In 2017 5 states have already signed New Jersey’s appeal to legalize sport bets. The fifth bill was filed in Maryland. The other four states are Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and the South Carolina.
The government of Maryland will create a target group that will study this problem and formulate the government’s attitude to gambling. The target group will include three delegates, three state senators, chief of the regulating authority of gambling in Maryland, and also representatives of gambling houses and equestrian sport centers, the Calvinaire informs.
Five months ago the Third District Court of Appeal of the USA rejected New Jersey’s plan. According to this plan, people would be able to make sport bets in the Atlantic City gambling House and at public hippodromes.
In October the government of New Jersey appealed to the Supreme Court of the USA. The next month the initiative was supported by West Virginia, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi and Wisconsin. In January the initiative was also supported by Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and the South Carolina.
