The Tokyo Yakult Swallows will head to Jingu Stadium for the opener of a short 2-game series against the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks. The Tokyo Yakult Swallows are at the moment leading the Central League with 16 wins and 10 losses coming from a 2-game series where they have been sweeped 0-2 (1-2, 2-3) by the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, going now on a 3-game losing streak. The starting pitcher for the Swallows will be Tatsuyoshi Masubuchi W2-L1 ERA3.94. On the other side, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks are as well leaders but in the Pacific League with 20 wins and 10 losses, coming from a 2-game series where they have sweeped the Hanshin Tigers, 2-0 (4-0, 7-0), going now on a 3-game winning streak. For this one the Hawks will bring up pitcher Tadashi Settu W2-L2 ERA4.59. A very interesting meeting which was syncronized interesting as both teams are leading in their conference but in my oppinion, even though they are starting with a slightly weeker pitcher the Hawks are going on a 3-game winning streak unlike the Swallows who are going on a 3-game losing streak. Even though the Swallows are good at home with a 9-3 record my pick will be on the Hawks who look sharper to me at the moment.
