After last weekend’s poor result Cuca resigned from Cruzeiro, leaving room for the board to bring the former South Africa coach Joel Santana. Having worked with his new team during the week, Papa Joel tried to strengthen his defensive system, something Cruzeiro needed. After the Copa do Brasil finals things seem to be not going in the right direction for Coritiba. After drawing last weekend’s match, midfielder Leo Gago finally confessed that he knows he’s going through a bad moment but said he wants to get back in shape. This can be a good time for that, as Marcos Aurelio and Leandro Donizetti are back in the team after a few weeks in the medical department. The last time Cruzeiro didn’t concede was in the Campeonato Mineiro finals against their main rivals Atletico Mineiro. After that, there were five matches, when they allowed their opponents to score six times. During this same period, their attack, which looked impressive during the beginning of the year, began to fail, scoring only four goals. Coritiba too are going through a not so good period. After being the great sensation of the Brazilian football until the beginning of the Brasileirao, when they had lost only one match, the club started scoring too little and concede too much. Expect Cruzeiro to win 2:1.
