How to play 90 ball bingo game

90 ball bingo is closer to the historical bingo that began in the 1500s in Italy. This form of bingo involves 90 balls, which is no surprise given the name. The card or ticket, as it is sometimes called, is three rows by nine columns. There is no blank space like there is in 75 ball bingo. Each row has five numbers.

Since there are three rows, this means that each ticket of a card has 15 numbers. The numbers range from 1 to 90. In column 1 the numbers are 1 to 9. Column 2 has the numbers 10 to 19. The pattern continues with column 3 having numbers 2 to 29, column 4 has the numbers 30 to 39 and the rest of the columns have the numbers 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79 with the final column, the ninth column, having the numbers 80 to 90.

In the offline bingo game you have to mark all numbers in a row. Online, the goal is to mark off all the numbers on the card. If you are used to playing the 75 ball bingo game, you might find the transition to the 90 ball bingo a little confusing at first. However it is an easy form of bingo catch on to and with the popularity of the 90 ball version increasing, it is obvious that it is an appealing form of bingo. Actually 90 ball bingo is the most popular version of the game played outside of North America particularly in England and Europe.

While the online goal of 90 ball bingo is to mark off all numbers on the card, it really works to be a three-game challenge. The first game involves covering all the numbers in a row and the second game involves covering all numbers in two rows. The third game is when all the numbers on the card are covered. During this process obviously once the first player covers a single line, the card remains as it is and the game continues until someone covers two lines.

Of course the 90 ball bingo player who covered the first line is more apt to win the second game as that person already has a full line covered. This is not a certainty however. It is possible that a player has four numbers out of five in two lines while the winner has one full line and possibly only a couple of numbers out of both of the other two lines.

Some online 90 ball bingo games stop after one line or two line games are completed and some continue until there is a full house. In off-line 90 ball bingo, the tickets are usually sold in strips of six. Online people typically play more than one card per game. As a way to make playing a little easier if you have more than one card, the cards often change color to indicate how many unmarked numbers are still left on each card.

As one example of an online 90 ball bingo site, CyberBingo opened its doors in 1996. It is one of the biggest bingo sites online. It offers both 75 ball bingo and 90 ball bingo.  Each week there are several pots of $25,000. You can also play free games that offer cash prizes. They include games with jackpots of $2500.

Just looking at the cash prizes that have been awarded by CyberBingo since 1996 shows just how big the bingo business is. In that period of time this one site has awarded $920 million. That number is probably closer to $1 billion by now. This is big business and 90 ball bingo is a very large part of that business.
