In the preliminary stages of The World Championship 2014, African zone, on Friday, starting with the hours of 19:00, Libya will host Togo in a match that is part of Group I.
With two stages before the closing of this group, the things are still uncertain. Libya and Cameroon both have six points and with a point less lays Congo, the last ranked being Togo, with only four points. Considering the fact that only the first ranked goes further, Togo needs a victory in this match played away in order not to be eliminated.
Libya has received only a single goal in the last seven matches played, including here the friendly ones. In this group, she has not received a single goal in the previous two matches played, but in the first two, she managed to score and also to receive a goal. The only success obtained in this campaign was against Cameroon, a match in which Hamed Snousi has scored in extra time the goal worth three points. The match from last week against Congo was the first match played at home by Libya in the last two years. Soccer lacked in this country after the civil war started with the death of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
Togo has succeeded in the match played five days ago against Cameroon to obtain the first victory of this group. In the matches played away, she lost both of them, receiving two goals in each. This year, Togo participated in The African Cup of Nations, where she was eliminated in the extra times by the finalist if the tournament, Burkina Faso.
Due to some problems that exist in their country, two Togolese players have refused to play in the today`s game. So, Alaixys Romao and Jonathan Ayite said no to the game. Romao has written on Twitter that he is close to coming back to France, not wanting to be exposed to a terrorist attack.
The two teams have met in the first game of this group. After each one of them scored in the first 16 minutes of the game, they have voided one another, at the end both received one point. Today, though, a tie does not benefit either of them. The dispute from last summer was the only one played between the two teams in the last 12 years.
Sport betting odds for Libya vs Togo:
Total number of goals (over/under 2.5): 1.50 2.50
Libya – Togo tip: both teams score / Odd 2.25
Both teams have two games played in this group in which they have marked and received goals. One of them is the direct one played last year. After two “white” rematches, we consider that the time has come for Libya to display an open game, taking into consideration that a draw will be useless, the winning team going afterwards in Cameroon.
