Betting strategy Paroli

There are several betting systems used by casino players to maximise their profits that are also highly favourable for sports bettors and the Paroli is one of them. This betting system is the absolute opposite of the Martingale theory and is also referred to as the Anti-Martingale betting system. It is quite like how the banks compound interest on our savings. As opposed to the Martingale betting system, which preaches that one must increase his bets after a loss, the Paroli is based on the theory that you must double your bet only after a win, which is why it is called the Anti-Martingale betting system. Once you lose, you must start all over again from the first unit.

For example:

  • You bet $1 and win
  • You bet $2 and win
  • You bet $4 and win
  • You bet $1 and lose
  • You bet $1 and win
  • You bet $2 and lose
  • You bet $1 and lose

The sequence of bets follows the above pattern. You double your bets until you lose one of the bets and start right from the beginning until you reach another point where you lose again and go back to the initial bet. When using the Paroli betting system you need to lay down certain parameters. You must firstly decide on a unit value. Then you must make a decision as to how many bets you would like to win consecutively before you are ready to start all over again from the first bet. This is an important factor to consider because you simply cannot keep increasing your bets until you lose. It is certainly not advisable, so decide on a number of wins and start again from the beginning.

Three wins is an often chosen number especially in Roulette as it has worked well for many, which is why we hear of the effective ‘Paroli for three betting system’, as it is called. In this you choose three wins after which you start from the first unit again.

For example: Taking three wins and starting again from the first

  • You bet $1 and win
  • You bet $2 and win
  • You bet $4 and win
  • You bet $1 and win

In the above example where three wins is your chosen limit, your profits stand at 7 units from an initial bet of 1 unit, which is quite good. So after every three wins, you go back to your initial bet and begin once again. In case you lose before you make your three wins, you must begin from the initial bet until you achieve the three wins status.

Since the Paroli betting system supports hot streaks, you can benefit greatly by doubling your bets during these streaks and earn good profits from the betting system. It is believed that this betting system offers better rewards than the returns that you may get from flat betting. It may well be said that if you are able to make three wins in a row, the system will work favourably for you. But again, any betting system would work well during winning streaks and three wins in a row is not a good enough win.

More like the 1-3-2-6 or similar betting systems where during alternating results, a loss cannot be returned even when you are experiencing a total winning situation, the Paroli too cannot offer the best of returns. However, for the losing streaks, if you follow the betting pattern, you will only lose a single betting unit on every lost bet. Since the risk is low as you are losing only a tiny part of your bankroll, the Paroli betting system is far better than systems like the Martingale where losses can be huge as the risk factor is high. This is why the Paroli is a popularly used betting system by casino players as well as sports bettors.

Popularly used for Roulette or Blackjack, the Paroli betting system cannot work in the same manner for chance games like Lotto, as the player is not making the decisions here. The Paroli cannot improve your chances of winning and therefore are not effective in such games. But for those bets where it can be used efficiently, the Paroli can be a good betting system to use.

The advantage of using the Paroli betting system is that you can earn large profits from a small starting stake. As it is not the losses that your are after, the Paroli betting system requires only a small investment for betting. In fact the system allows your profits to grow and cuts down your losses. The betting system is just right for those bettors who have a small initial bankroll to start with. Also it is a good strategy for beginners as the risk factor is low and you do not lose too much money even if you have a losing streak.

Although the Paroli is an effective betting system as compared to many others, it has its disadvantages too. The greatest disadvantage of using the system is that if you are on a huge winning streak, it is most likely that you will reach the table limit very quickly. Another big drawback to using the betting system is that you cannot tell when a hot streak may arrive, which could mean that your initial bankroll could begin to diminish in the long run.

In short, if you do wish to use the Paroli betting system, you must remember to set a target of wins that you wish to achieve before you go back to starting from your initial bet. You will have to decide how much of your bankroll you wish to set aside and by how much you will increase your bets after a win. Since you cannot predict when your winning or losing streak is to happen, it is best to set a maximum of three wins before you revert back to the starting bet. If luck is by your side, you can hit a winning streak and soar up your bankroll with only a few bets, but remember not to chase your losses.
