Betsafe UK goes big for boxing this May

Betsafe UK, has announced that it will be the headline sponsor of two boxing world championship bouts this May as the online bookmaker goes ‘big for boxing’.

Starting this Saturday 13 May, Betsafe will sponsor the WBA Super Flyweight fight between champion Khalid ‘Kal’ Yafai vs Japan’s Suguru Muranaka at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena.

The month May, will also see Betsafe sponsor the much anticipated IBF Welterweight showdown on 27 May between Kell ‘Special K’ Brook vs Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence, hosted at a sell-out Bramall Lane (Sheffield).

Promoted by Matchroom Boxing, Yafai vs Muranaka will be shown on Sky Sports whilst the Kell Brook vs Errol Spence Jr match, will be aired on Sky Box Office.

Confirming the sponsorship, Betsafe marketing stated that the firm was committed to raising its profile and coverage within boxing. This month the bookmaker appointed former Cruiserweight WBC world champion Tony Bellew as its new brand ambassador and boxing advisor.

A delighted Betsafe Global Brand Manager, Neill Simpson, commented on the title sponsorships: “We’re excited and proud to announce our sponsorship of these two high-profile boxing events as we grow our sponsorship roster in the UK. Our association with Haye vs Bellew was an unforgettable experience and huge success for us, leading to Bellew signing a 12-month deal with Betsafe just last week.

“Live experiences are a big part of the Betsafe brand, and we look forward to bringing boxing fans closer to the action, with exclusive comments and content.”
