Stockholm-listed Betsson AB has confirmed that it has completed its £26 million acquisition of UK interactive gaming operator NetPlay TV (deal first announced on 2 February).
Updating the market, Betsson governance informed that its offer had passed all conditions of the UK High Court of Justice, allowing for the firm to complete its transaction.
Prior to High Court approval, Betsson acquisition offer had been approved by NetPlay’s governance board and investors.
Completing its £26 million acquisition, Betsson will strengthen its UK presence by taking control of NetPlay assets, adding Jackpot247, Supercasino and Vernons to its European gaming multi-brand portfolio.
Betsson governance informed that the company would undertake a number of changes to Netplay operations and management.
The currently outsourced NetPlay TV customer service and payment operations will be centralised in Malta with crucial CRM and VIP functions moved closer to the rest of the Betsson business.
Furthermore, Betsson and NetPlay office locations in the UK will be consolidated. The three brands operate on a third-party system and is planned to be migrated to Techsson platform in 2019, when current agreements run out.
Ulrik Bengtsson, CEO and President of Betsson AB commented on the deal closure;
“With the addition of NetPlay and the continued organic growth, UK is on its way to become one of Betsson’s most important markets. Also, this acquisition is a good example of our strategy to acquire subscale operators where integration with Betsson’s systems and processes can realise synergies”,
