Duncan Maylon, retail director of Camelot UK, is to depart the company after nearly a decade to pursue the position of commercial director at Arla Foods.
During his tenure at Camelot, Maylon helped grow National Lottery retail sales upwards of 15 per cent, with annual in-store sales totting up to over £5bn.
Malyon said: “I’ve loved working at Camelot for the last decade, and I feel confident that I’m leaving the retail team – and the business as a whole – in a great place.
“I’ll be watching out for Camelot’s successes, which I know will continue well into the future.”
Maylon worked for Camelot since April 2009. Since then, the lottery provider has grown from 27,500 retail outlets to now boasting 45,000.
Camelot chief executive, Nigel Railton, added: “Duncan has been instrumental in overseeing the retail components of our strategic plan and has done an excellent job of laying strong, solid foundations to ensure we continue to deliver a first-class experience for National Lottery retail players, as well as for our tens of thousands of retail partners.
“Although we’re all extremely sorry to see him go, this is a fantastic opportunity for Duncan – and is testament to the calibre of talent we have at Camelot.”
Maylon had previously been tasked with overseeing the US contingent of Camelot. He was responsible for heading up Camelot Global, holding the position of senior vice-president North America at Camelot Global.
Since his return to the UK in 2017, Camelot has invested heavily in developing initiatives that will enhance the customer journey and improve retailer engagement.
