LeoVegas is one of the sponsors for the fourth edition of Betting on Football, which takes place at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge from 3-5 May.

We spoke to Diemo Albilt, the company’s Head of Affiliates, about the networking opportunities at the conference, which session has caught his eye and why they have chosen to sponsor the event for a second year running.

SBC: Why did you choose to sponsor Betting on Football 2017?

DA: One of the main reasons why we opted to sponsor Betting on Football for the second time running is because the event has grown so much over the last couple of years.

It is the only sports conference that is focused on football that has managed to attract both affiliates and operators. It also has a rich variety of networking opportunities; which are ideal for us.

SBC: What are you most looking forward to at the conference?

DA: As I mentioned, I think the networking possibilities at #bofcon2017 are incredible. These give us the opportunity to catch-up with existing partners and to meet new ones with whom we can develop new business relationships. Something else we are really looking forward to is the unique location in which it is held: Stamford Bridge. We are also eager to attend the Betting CEO Panel in which LeoVegas Gaming’s CEO, Johan Styren will be participating.

SBC: Given that you have engaged in sponsorship this season with Leicester Tigers, which sessions will you be attending on the marketing and media track?

DA: We have found something interesting in most of the sessions that are planned for the two days of the conference.

SBC: Which other parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?

DA: As said, most of the agenda items sound really interesting. However, being the Head of Affiliates at LeoVegas, I will definitely be attending the affiliate leaders panel in the Leadership track.

SBC: As a football focused operator, how do you prepare for a summer without a European Championships or World Cup?

DA: I do not consider LeoVegas a football focused operator. We offer all sorts of sporting events and what makes us different is that our sportsbook was specially built for mobile. This means that time and time again, various tests have found LeoVegas Sport to be the fastest sportsbook out there. This speed lends itself very good for those who want to bet on live-play sports.

Having said that, even though there are no European or World Championships in football, there are scores of other leagues and tournaments that still attract the following of millions. These include the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier, the Italian Serie A, the Spanish La Liga, etc.

Earlier this year, there was also the African Cup of Nations and the American Super Bowl. One must also not disregard sports like tennis, golf, horse racing, rugby, athletics, boxing, badminton, ice hockey, etc.
