Social media content and fan engagement specialist, The Ball Street Network has announced its latest YouTube venture, the ‘XO’ channel.

Launching XO this week, Ball Street combines the talents of UK leading social media figureheads, The True Geordie, WillNE and Stephen Tries who combined have a YouTube following of +2 million subscribers.

The XO channel seeks to bring a fresh engagement to the Ball Street Network’s social portfolio, expanding its existing content beyond traditional YouTube sports and football content formats.

The new channel will produce original documentaries, YouTube experiences, social commentary, podcasts, interviews combined with unique viewer engagements.

The development of XO sees ‘The True Geordie Podcast’, the UK’s highest audio-show (social reach – 85 million), become part of the Ball Street Network.

Supporting the expansion of XO, Ball Street announces new recruits in Adam Boultwood as Head of Content with Laurence McKenna as XO Creative Director.

Launching XO, The True Geordie said: “We’ve seen the first generation of football channels, and they’ve gone unchallenged – until now.

“What makes XO different is that we have some of the most talented people YouTube has to offer under one roof. On camera in Will, Stephen, Laurence and myself, I believe we have the dream team and, with Ball Street backing us, this project will be unbeatable. We’ll soon be making some of the best content this space has ever seen, trust me on that.”

In its first three days since launching, XO has surpassed +300,000 YouTube subscribers, with Ball Street further reporting +1.2 million organic views since its weekend launch.

A pleased Matt Wilson, Ball Street CEO and co-founder said: “We’re making great progress commercially and now, with XO, we have the premium, marquee sports channel we’ve been looking for.”
