Vigen Badalyan – Moving to Open…BetConstruct recognises importance of industry’s independent thinkers

Last week, industry platform provider BetConstruct detailed a major partner update for 2017 stating that it had published its front-end source codes as an ‘open-source function’, with a view of giving its clients significant flexibility and agility over the management of their products and services.

Speaking to SBC, Vigen Badalyan BetConstruct Executive Chairman detailed the importance of the firm’s decision from a governance perspective, as new ‘open source’ functions would impact a number of internal and external operational processes.

“There are a number of factors we deeply assessed. Most importantly, we made the decision after listening to our partners’ desires to get technology and services that will distinguish them from the multitude of other operators,” stated Vigen Badalyan.

“We understand how much our partners feel a need to be special and different. With this initiative we remove barriers for the partners who seek uniqueness and wish to build their front end the way they envision it. We willingly break down barriers, simultaneously saving time and resources, both ours and our partners.”

Badalyan detailed that betting and gaming stakeholders wanted to gain new competencies and further be seen as ‘independent thinkers’ away from their platform providers.

“We started as a B2C operator. Thus, we very well understand operators and know how important this open-source project as well as the replication service, which we have recently begun delivering, can be for partners to manage their businesses independently. Before the iGaming Super Show, we will introduce another major project that will allow more independence and flexibility to our partners.” Vigen Badalyan added.

Vigen Badalyan further details that the forward-looking decision by BetConstruct points towards a new perspective and relationship between the technology provider and partner operator, in what has become a more complex value chain for participating stakeholders.

“It is about allowing our partners to feel more secure and less dependent. The more control you have over data, be it player information or source code, the more confident you are. To help operators gain more independence, we also offer Spring Pro tools. This is for businesses that want to grow into a ‘BetConstruct’. We provide them with all the technology and tools: betting website builder, odds management and event creation and leagues tools, risk management and trading tools and many more. Everyone wants to grow into a big business someday and we create a way for them.”
